US Group Donates Medical Supplies

A U.S.-based overseas Korean group called The Cross Mission recently donated a large quantity of medical supplies to North Korea, RFA reported today.

According to the RFA report, people from the organization visited Pyongyang and parts of North Hwanghae Province in late August to review flood damage and check the state of affairs at two medicine production facilities the group funds.

Then, in accordance with a request received at the time, on September 6th the group provided a substantial quantity of antibiotics, ointments and blood pressure medication.

According to the group, the aid was long overdue.

“The nutritional state of the people we saw on the ground was far worse than we had imagined,” an official noted, adding, “We have plans to hold events in order to obtain support for our efforts to provide combined vitamins to North Korean children.”
