The Chosun Central News Agency (KCNA) revealed on the 28th that 88 people were killed and 134 were injured in the typhoon and the torrential downpours.
The state news reported that the heavy downpour affected most of its south western regions of Pyongyang.
Moreover, 5,000 homes were partially or completely destroyed and more than 12,030 homes were flooded leaving 62,900 people homeless.
There were also huge crop damages according to KCNA reporting that 4,800 farmlands were swept away or buried due to heavy downpour.
KCNA stated, ¡°There were much crop damage in the Cheonma, Unsan, Daegwan district of North Pyongan Province, Eunchun district of South Hwanghae Province, Eunpa district of North Hwanghae Province, Kowon district and Dancheon city of South Hankyung Province and Kimchaek city of North Hamkyung Province.¡±
KCNA also revealed that more than ten buildings of the educational and health sectors, 300 public buildings, 60 production buildings were destroyed or buried in the flood. More than 1,190 roads and 200 banks were also destroyed.
Meanwhile, North Korea had reported that seven were killed in the ¡®Khanun¡¯ typhoon last 24th and farmlands were flooded.
