North Korean human rights groups held a press conference in Seoul today to condemn North Korea¡¯s long-range rocket launch.

NKnet, the Committee for the Democratization of North Korea and other North Korea human rights NGOs and university students¡¯ groups convened at Seoul Foreign Correspondent¡¯s Club, declaring, ¡°North Korea¡¯s rocket launch reflects the fact that Kim Jong Eun does not care one bit about the lives of the people and is only concerned about maintaining the power of the regime, just like his father Kim Jong Il.¡±

They continued, ¡°North Korea has proudly talked about the Strong and Prosperous State, but they can¡¯t solve their problems and to cover that up they are shooting missiles to trick everyone.¡±

¡°The international community must strongly condemn Kim Jong Eun¡¯s inhumane and immoral regime,¡± they concluded.

Meanwhile, a number of groups also rallied at the UN headquarters in New York, declaring, ¡°In the situation where North Korean citizens are starving, launching anything, be it a satellite or a missile, is an unlawful act. It is hard to understand why North Korea wants to waste huge amounts of money on astronomical costs such as rocket launches before solving the problems of the starving North Korean people.¡±
