Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office yesterday charged a 29-year old defector, Huh, with entering South Korea with the intent to execute orders received from North Korea’s Defense Security Command.
According to public prosecutors, Huh, a military officer, received his orders last June from Defense Security Command and entered South Korea via China in August disguised as a defector.
The prosecutor’s office commented, “The fact that Huh was disguised as a defector was discovered during the government investigation into new defectors, then he confessed his crimes to the prosecutor’s investigation. Fortunately, he was caught in the process of attempting to settle down in South Korea, so no orders were carried out.”
