NK-China, Frontier Trades Growing…’Green Path’ Built in Nasun Border Area

[imText1]It seems that the construction of the ‘Green Path’ that North Korea and China agreed to in order to encourage trade along the border would soon begin.

Kwangmyung Ilbo, a Chinese newspaper, reported that, “The Jilin-Hunchun Frontier Inspection Center, and The North Korean Frontier Inspection Center decided to build the ‘Green Path’ as a ‘Road-Port Integration Project’ connecting the mouth of the river in Hunchun City, China with the one in Nasun City, North Korea”.

According to the newspaper, if the ‘Green Path’ is built, the customs offices in Hunchun City and Wonjongli would work throughout the year, and North Korea would be able to extend invitations for Chinese workers in North Korea.

The newspaper said that through the ‘Green Path’, Chinese corporations would receive a customs fee reduction of about 400,000 Yuan a year.

Quoting Chol Kyung Lee (president) and Pan Il Sung of Hunchun Donglin Economy and Trade Incorporated Company, it was said that, “This year China invested 24,000,000 Yuan to extend 50km of the road linking Wonjongli and Najin city to a secondary road in China”.
