A delegation from North Korea is scheduled to study the ins and outs of foreign trade and attracting foreign capital at Nan Kai University in China, it has been revealed. The move follows the recent decision by the North Korean authorities to establish special economic zones in each province.
China News Service reported on the 19th that Nan Kai University, in conjunction with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), created a program especially for the visiting North Koreans.
An opening ceremony held at the university was attended by delegates from North Korea's Chosun Trade and Investment Promotion Committee, recently established for the purpose of research and debate on economic opening strategies.
Participants will be shown examples of regional cooperation, and will visit Tianjin, Suzhou and Shanghai.
