A package containing a suspicious white powder was delivered to the Ministry of National Defense on the 23rd, triggering an emergency response. However, the substance later turned out to be wheat flour.
An official explained earlier today, “This morning at 10:12 a package arrived for the Minister of National Defense. The same anonymous document that was scattered near the Ministry building before and an unidentified white powder were delivered.”
Although the powder was later identified as wheat flour, the threatening intent was clear. The Ministry, which classified the act as attempted terrorism, has since announced that it "will cooperate with police and the National Intelligence Service to investigate the incident."
The delivery follows the April 19th distribution of hundreds of leaflets containing slanderous and threatening words aimed at Minister Kim in the Yongsan region, where the Ministry of National Defense is located.
