South Korean police are investigating the origins of a leaflet containing defamatory and intimidating content about Kim Kwan Jin, the South Korean Minister of National Defense.

According to police, the unidentified half-A4 leaflet, which also contained praise for the North Korean state, was discovered on the 19th near the main Ministry of National Defense building in the Yongsan district of Seoul.

The material, which was was untitled and contained no images, stated, Kim Kwan Jin should not recklessly open his dirty trap, going on, If he wantonly upsets North Koreas supreme dignity then he will be punished in the name of the people who are dealing with his war insanity.

The police gathered the leaflet following a tip off from a civilian, and are investigating it in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense. The main suspects are bound to be either pro-North Korea figures inside South Korea or North Korean agents themselves.

A tough former military officer, Kim has long been a hated figure in North Korean propaganda. This is often the case for heads of the Ministry of National Defense in any case, as the ministry is routinely portrayed as a puppet government agency that acts in the interests of the occupying US Forces Korea (USFK).

For example, recent North Korean propaganda featured the image of Kim in use as a target for armed Chosun Peoples Army soldiers.
