New information has emerged that raises fears of possible expansion at one of North Korea¡¯s notorious political prison camps.

The information emerged late last week, and was then published by the U.S.-based website North Korea Economy Watch on the 18th. It describes suspicious new infrastructure and construction found on recent satellite images of Camp No.14 at Kaechon in South Pyongan Province.

The images reveal changes in the area that have taken place between December 2006 and September 2011.

The suspicious area features a 20km perimeter fence, 3km of which is shared with the original Camp 14. Two entrances puncture the fence, and there are a large number of previously unknown buildings within it, including a number that may serve as guard posts. It is, according to North Korea Economy Watch, a village that ¡°does not appear on any North Korean atlas that I have seen.¡±
