North Korea’s most famous current football player is on the brink of a move to South Korean team Samsung Suwon Bluewings, according to sources in the domestic media.
Citing sources close to the transfer today, Sport Kyunghyang reported that Suwon has made contact with 28-year old FC Cologne striker Jung Dae Sae's agent about recruiting the North Korean forward and are currently negotiating terms.
At one point Jung was worth $1.5 million, but his stock has recently fallen considerably. Unable to get a game with German 2nd division side FC Cologne, he put in a transfer request on October 31st and is thought to be available for a fee in the region of $500,000.
According to the article, many of South Korea’s major K-League teams have an interest in Jung at that kind of price, but he would prefer to play in Seoul.
